Elizabeth W. Tatum

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA -- Elizabeth W. Tatum, 85, of 615 North Iowa, died Friday (November 15, 1996) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 202 North Hawkeye, with the Rev. Richard Pippert officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.

Elizabeth W. Tatum was born June 7, 1911, in Sheffield, the daughter of Victor W. and Rosetta (Esslinger) Watt. She married Dawes K. Tatum on Sept. 2, 1934, in Sheffield.

Elizabeth graduated from Sheffield High School and later taught in Franklin County rural schools. After their marriage, she and her husband moved to Nora Springs where they have lived ever since.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the First United Methodist Church, and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include, her husband, Dawes Tatum of Nora Springs; one daughter, Nancy Wood of Nora Springs; four grandchildren, Kara, Michael, Daniel and Matthew Wood; one sister, Ardis Peterson of Rhinelander, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, E.J. and Dwight Watt; and one sister, Thelma Bishop.
