CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- John H. Holtz, 89, of Charles City, died Saturday (Jan. 13, 1996) at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Gospel Lighthouse, Floyd, with the Rev. Paul Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Floyd.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, and one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church.

John Henry Holtz was born June 22, 1906, at Olney, Illinois.

Survivors include four sons, Darrell Holtz, Fort Morgan, Colo., Merlin Holtz, Floyd, Roger Holtz, Prescott, Ariz., and David Holtz, Columbus, Ind.; and 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, three sons, a great-granddaughter, two sisters and one brother.
