Donna Rae Moore

RUDD, IOWA -- Donna Rae Moore, 50, of rural Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 25, 1995.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, with the Rev. Larry Maddox officiating. Interment will be in the Smith Family Cemetery, Pearl River County, Poplarville, Miss.

Donna Rae Moore was born Feb. 19, 1945, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, a daughter of Ted Buchanan and Ann (nee Alphs) Buchanan. She spent most of her life in North Iowa. She was a 1963 graduate of Big Fork High School, Big Fork, Minn.

She was united in marriage to Gene Miller on June 20, 1964, in Rudd, Iowa. To this union, two children were born, Tim and Stephanie. She was united in marriage to Larry Moore on June 10, 1974, in Long Beach, Miss.

While living in Rudd, she worked for the RRMR School District for approximately 12 years. She later moved to Houston, Texas, where she was employed by the Cy-Fair I.S.D. schools for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She volunteered time at a foster care mission. She was also very active in the singles group at church.

She was a very loving, giving person who gave freely of her love and time to others. She spent a great deal of time caring for her many beautiful flower gardens.

Donna struggled several years with cancer and was a patient at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

She is survived by one son, Tim Miller of Grapevine, Texas; one daughter, Stephanie Walters of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters, Amanda and Kristin Miller of Grapevine, Texas; her parents, Ted and Ann Buchanan of Pass Christian, Miss.; one sister, Gayl Smith and her husband, Jim of Rudd, Iowa; two brothers, Duane Buchanan and his wife, Linda of Rudd, Iowa, and Gary Buchanan and his wife, Karen, of Houston, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
