It is with much sadness that we have to record the death of another of our beloved citizens Charles W. Morris.

Mr. Morris was the son of William and Nancy Morris and was born in Lexington, Kentucky, February 11, 1844. When a small boy his parents moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Marriah Eggers Aug. 20,1863. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and was faithful to his chosen church all his life Mr. and Mrs. Morris moved to Iowa,March 17, 1873 and settled on a farm three miles North of Nora Springs in 1886 and lived in his present home since 1894.
He was postmaster and was in the grocery business for a number of years.

Mr. Morris was a charter member of the Loyal Modern Woodmen Lodge and the Knights of Phthias.
About five weeks ago he became seriously ill.
Two weeks ago he was confined to his bed and passed away at 11:55 Sunday night March 23, 1930.

Those who survive him are his three daughters, Mary F. Smith, Mahala D. McAdams, and Mrs. Homer Treloar; four grandchildren: Charles, Hugh, Marian and Vada Treloar; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Housh of Hiawathia, Kansas, and Mrs. Henry Eggers of Indianapolis; and one brother, Henry Morris of North Yakima, Washington.

The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H.A. Crumb of the Methodist Church. He was laid to rest in Park Cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him in death September 20, 1924.
