Killed by Gun At Charles City

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Services for a Charles City youth accidentally shot while hunting will be at
2 p. m. Wednesday in the First Methodist Church here.

Dead is Richard W. Kreger 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kreger.

Authorities said the youth was hit in the face by a .22 caliber rifle slug Saturday afternoon
while hunting with John Jacobs, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jacobs, Charles City. The victim apparently was holding Jacobs rifle when it discharged. He was taken to a hospital here where he died Saturday night.

Hauser funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, three brothers, Merlin, James and Gerald, and two sisters, Mrs. Royal Ballhaven and Janice.
