Death of Langman

CHARLES CITY, June 15 - William A. Langman, 41, truck driver for the Grandon Coal Company dropped dead yesterday morning in front of the office of the company where he was employed.

He leaves his wife and two children, Luella, aged 11 years, and William, Jr., aged 7; his mother, Mrs. Herman Langman of Rockford; one brother, Louis of Rudd; six sisters, Mrs. James Ruckdashel and Mrs. Ben Heitz of Rockford; Mrs. Clarence Buckner, Rockford; Mrs. Edith Kissell and Mrs. Basil Kintz of Mason City and Mrs. L. R. Thomas of Floyd.

Mr. Langman was found by M. J. Prabb, express messenger, James Burnett, Jr., who was to meet the train with a taxicab and who called his uncle, A. C. Burnett and John Obermeier who operates an oil station in that neighborhood. The latter went to Langman's home to bring his children. When A. C. Burnett arrived, he noted that Langman was frothing slightly at the mouth but it is believed death was almost instantaneous.

An autopsy was held Sunday afternoon at the Grossman Funeral Home where the body was removed, when a surgeon and the two physicians called performed a postmortem in the presence of Coroner Bert J. Oaks of Marble Rock. According to Coroner Oakes nothing was found that would indicate death was due to a heart attack and the contents of the stomach were taken by Coroner Oakes and sent to Iowa City for analysis. A coroner's inquest is taking place at 1 o'clock this afternoon at city hall.
