Mason City, IowaCHARLES CITY, IOWA - Wilma Lee Allen 91, formerly of Mason City, died Friday April 3, 2009, at the Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday April 13, 2009, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City, with Pastor Tom Healey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Wilma Lee Koteck was born March 29, 1918, in Marshalltown, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Deana (Olson) Koteck. She graduated from Marshalltown High School and attended Jr. College. In July of 1942, she was united in marriage to Frank Allen. They were blessed with two children Sandra and Scott. While living in Ames, Frank and Wilma owned a dormitory housing 21 students. They lived in Mason City until the fall of 1970, and then moved to Charles City.
Wilma’s hobbies included fishing, swimming, boating, traveling, and spending time with her family. She also had a love for new clothes and animals she really enjoyed her dogs and cats.
She was a past member of the First Congregational Church, Mason City and a member of the First Congregational Church, Charles City.She is survived by her husband, Frank Allen, Charles City, children, Sandra (Tom) DeWilde, Clear Lake, Scott (Kathy) Allen, Des Moines, grandchildren, Tamara (Dan) Kroc, Libertyville, IL, Jason (Carolyn) DeWilde, Ankeny, five Great Grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Marvin Koteck.
