CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Frank Kerulis, 66, of Dubuque, and formerly of Charles City, died on Monday, March 30, 2009, at his home.

A funeral Mass for Frank Kerulis will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, with the Rev. Carl Ries, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main in Charles City. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Frank Andrew Kerulis was born April 24, 1942, at Hammond, Indiana, the son of Francis “Frank” and Leona (Weber) Kerulis. He graduated from East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Illinois. and attended the University of Northern Iowa.

On July 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Nola Townsend at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Frank began his career at International Harvester in Melorse, Ill. and retired on January 31, 2001 from John Deere at Dubuque. His memberships included the Iowa Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Frank’s interests included gold panning, camping, canoeing, hunting and studying history and genealogy.

Living family members include his wife, Nola of Dubuque; two daughters, Catherine (Sam) Theodore of San Diego, Calif., and Victoria “Vickie” (Robert) Knochenmus of Allen, Tex.; and six, grandchildren, Katharine, Elizabeth, Grace, Matthew, Elijah and Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Francis.
