RUDD, IOWA - Funeral services for Eileen E. Barry, 73, of 614 Decker Street, Rudd, will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 1997, at the Rudd United Methodist Church with the Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Creek Cemetery in Greene.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene and will continue on Monday at the church from 11 a.m. to time of service. There will be a lunch served for family and friends at the church at noon.

Eileen Elizabeth Raymond was born on June 28, 1923, in Greene, Iowa, a daughter of Archie B. and Cora B. (Skillen) Raymond.

Eileen Raymond Barry died on Friday, March 7, 1997, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City, Iowa.

She received her education in the Greene public schools and on March 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Russell E. Barry at the Methodist parsonage in Hampton. Following his discharge, they made their home in Greene where they operated Barry Installation Service and Furniture Repair. In 1963, the family moved to Arizona and later to Huntington Beach, Calif., where they lived for 25 years. Following their retirement, they moved to Houston, Texas, in 1988. During this time, she was a dedicated volunteer worker at the Labay Junior High School in Houston where she received several awards and recognitions for her service. In 1992, they returned to Iowa, making their home in Rudd.

Eileen became actively involved in community service in Rudd by serving on the Rudd City Council as its mayor pro tem, Rudd Betterment Council and a faithful member of the Rudd United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle, member of the Memorial committee and church treasurer.

She will be remembered as one who enjoyed life and loved her children and grandchildren. Eileen enjoyed reading mystery books, crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, Nickels and crafts.

Living family members include three sons, Charles Russell and his wife, Sharon Barry, of Cypress, Texas, Richard Allan Barry of Rudd, and Larry Raymond of Waukon; nine grandchildren, Kristine, Stephanie, Ronald, Joe, Paul, Roberta, Mike, Larry and Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Seth, Caitlin, Breann, and Jennifer; three sisters, Betty and John Hayungs of Rudd, Alice Franklin of Waterloo, Ruth and Gene Viers of Greene; and one brother, Walter ''Bud'' and Modine Raymond of Kingman, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 30, 1995; her daughter, Susan Kay Campbell, on November 5, 1995; and a son, Kenneth Raymond, in 1986.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Eileen E. Barry Memorial Fund established at the Rudd United Methodist Church or to the family.
