John R. Gower

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - John R. "Bob" Gower, 64, of 223 N. Main St., died Friday (Feb. 28, 1997) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., with the Rev. Jack L. Ivey of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.

John Robert "Bob" Gower was born May 8, 1932, in Centerville.

Survivors include one daughter, Mitzi DeGroote of Hampton; two sons, Douglas Gower of Louisville, Colo., and Robert Gower of Superior, Wis.; one brother, William Gower of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one sister, Helen Chadima of Iowa City; and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
