CEDAR FALLS, IOWA — Kristina Vierkant, 50, died on Thursday (Sept. 29, 2005) at the Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls.

Funeral Services for Kristina Vierkant will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, with Mr. Dennis Brock officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Kristina Kay Harris was born Dec. 12, 1954, to John Thomas and Lois Ann (Harnisch) Harris. She graduated from Nashua High School and attended Hamilton Business College.

She was united in marriage to Greg Vierkant on Feb. 13, 1982, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nashua. She worked for Kmart and spent the last several years serving as general manager of the Super 8 Motel in Charles City.

Kris and Greg were foster parents for 15 years. She also enjoyed serving as a Girl Scout leader, crocheting, Bible study, camping, fishing and travel.

Living relatives include her husband, Greg; three daughters, Jalissa, Sarah and Susan Vierkant; and one son, Jamie Vierkant; all living at home; her mother, Lois Harris, Charles City; one brother, Phil Harris, Charles City; one sister, Becky (Bill) Neal, Nashua; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother-in-law, David Gibson.
