NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Marcine Coburn, 56, of Nora Springs, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. in Mason City. Marcine will be cremated after the visitation, and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are by Fullerton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 641-423-8676.

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Marcine Coburn, age 56, of Nora Springs, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City, Cerro Gordo county, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 2. at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. in Mason City.

Marcine will be cremated following the visitation and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Marcine was born on May 12, 1952 in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, the daughter of Gale and Mildred (Carter) Dana. She had lived in Nora Springs for the last 14 years, and in Plymouth prior to that. She had been married to James Bass, and to this union, three children were born, Terry, Scott and Lyneen. She was also married to Michael Nicholson, who passed away in 1991. This union produced two children, Mike and Ashley. She was united in marriage to David Coburn in Plymouth on October 16, 1999.

Marcine had an interest in poetry and wrote many poems. She also enjoyed watching the television show "Nancy Grace" and listening to her husband, Dave, sing and play numerous instruments, as well as visiting with friends and family at her kitchen table. Other hobbies that she took joy in included gardening, crocheting, riding motorcycles and tattoos. She also loved caring for her two dogs, Ruth Ann and Wezz.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David; children, Terry and Cindy Bass of Northwood, Lyneen McLaughlin of Mason City, Mike Nicholson and Ashley Nicholson, both of Nora Springs; step-daughter, Tonya Kirschbaum of Clear Lake; mothers-in-law, Dorothy Nicholson of Plymouth and Evelyn Coburn of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Craig and Blake Bass, Leslie Arndt, Max McLaughlin, Kailanna Nicholson, and Will and Waylon Kirschbaum; sisters, Marlis Boehmer, Lyneen Brunsting, Sharon Springer and Cheryl Roder; brothers, Bruce Dana, Gary Dana and Stanley Dana; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Nicholson; son, Scott Bass; fathers-in-law, Everett Coburn and Lester Nicholson; and brother, Terry Dana.
