NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Joseph R. Plummer, 76, of Nora Springs, died Thursday (June 3, 2004) at Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye Ave. in Nora Springs, with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral chapel.

Joseph Raymond Plummer was born Nov. 11, 1927, the son of Charles and Blanche (Soucek) Plummer. He was a 1946 graduate of Nora Springs High School. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Eide Electronics in Mason City for many years.

After retiring, he continued to repair radios and televisions at his home. He enjoyed traveling.

Joe is survived by several cousins including Ruth Stark and her husband, Art, of Cedar Rapids; Irene Dettert, of Center Point; Lavonn Wilson and her husband, Walter, of Mason City; and Edward Soucek, of Dougherty.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Edna Plummer, and Edith Rookey.
