IONIA, IOWA — Raymond P. DeGeus, 61, of rural Ionia, died Thursday (March 4, 2004) at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Charles City, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens Cemetery, rural Charles City.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua, and an hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Ray is survived by his wife, Mary; four daughters, Kelli (the Rev. Jeff) Ungs, of Clear Lake, Sheri (Duane) Howieson, of Ellendale, Minn., Angie Bohlman, of Owatonna, Minn., and Jessica (John) Frana, of Cresco; two sons, Mitchell DeGeus, of Charles City, and Jake (fiance, Sheli Burgart) DeGeus, of Lakeville, Minn.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Edna (Gar) Madeiros, of Nevada, and Mildred (Bruce) Culbertson, of Titonka; and one brother, Ed (JoAnn) De-Geus, of Britt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
