GLEN R. MAUPIN

MISSION, TEXAS — Glen R. Maupin, 86, of Mission, Texas, died Friday (Feb. 13, 2004) in Mission.

He was born in Manly and married Margaret Ellison. He worked at Lockheed Aircraft in California during World War II. He moved back to start farming near Rockford, where he lived for over 45 years. He spent the last 22 winters at Bentsen Grove Resort in Mission, where he enjoyed playing golf, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Building and flying radio controlled airplanes was a lifelong hobby and he belonged to the River City R/C Club for many years. He was also a member of the 055 Fireliters Square Dance Campers Association for 20 years.

Mr. Maupin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Maupin; his children, Judy Friebel (Dave) of Oneida, Wis., Carolyn (Thomas) Accardi of Littleton, Colo., Dean (Cathy) of Davenport; his brothers, Dale, Dave, Kenny; a sister, AdaBeth Powell; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His parents; a sister, Maxine; and a great-grandchild preceded him in death.

A memorial service was held at Bentsen Grove Resort on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, where Margaret Maupin resides at 810 N. Bentsen Palm Drive, #138, Mission, Texas 78572. Interment will be held at Rockford at a later date.
