MARBLE ROCK — Agatha Krambeer, 94, of 640 E. Bradford St., Marble Rock, died Thursday (Jan. 8, 2004) at the Liebe Care Center in Greene.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Roseville, rural Marble Rock, with Father Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m Sunday at Reid’s Funeral Chapel in Greene, with a scriptural wake service at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary conducted by the Rosary Society.

MARBLE ROCK, IOWA — A funeral Mass for Agatha A. Krambeer, 94, of 640 E. Bradford St., will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roseville, rural Marble Rock, with Monsignor Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Reid’s Funeral Chapel in Greene, with a scriptural wake service at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary conducted by the Roseville Rosary Society. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Monday at the parish hall.

Agatha Anne Merfeld was born Feb. 5, 1909, in rural Union Township, Floyd County, a daughter of John Joseph and Kathryn (Kramer) Merfeld, and died Thursday (Jan. 8, 2004) at the Liebe Care Center in Greene.

She received her education at St. Mary’s School in Rose-ville and graduated from the Marble Rock Public School in 1926.

She was employed at Moore’s General Store in Marble Rock as a clerk until becoming assistant Postmaster in January 1935.

On Oct. 7, 1939, she was united in marriage to Donald Ellis Krambeer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roseville. They made their home in Marble Rock where they were both active in the community.

She retired from the post office in March 1973. Don preceded her in death on January 27, 1988.

Agie was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roseville, member of the Rosary Society, Marble Rock Historical Society, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Heritage Club. She was an avid New York Mets and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Living family members include two sisters-in-law, Gila Merfeld of Greene and Audrey Merfeld of Marble Rock; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Marcellina, Barbara, Ann, and Christine; and six brothers, Tony, Merrick, Leander, Bernard, and Ed-ward Merfeld and a brother in infancy.
