CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA — June LaVonne Edwards, 60, of 2900 First Ave. N.E., Cedar Rapids, died Monday (Nov. 17, 2003) at home of a short bout with cancer.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Open Bible in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Charles Stevens officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her loving husband, Roger; a daughter, Melody Williams; her sons, Christopher Edwards and Michael Edwards, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Andrew Sova, Steven Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Kamille Williams, Rosemary Williams and Elizabeth Edwards; her sisters, Barb Jeffries of Osage, Betty Star of Clear Lake; her brothers, Harley Shaw of Orchard, Howard Shaw of Osage, and Ricky Shaw of Orchard.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Davison.

June was born Sept. 13, 1943, in Nora Springs, Floyd county, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Norma Hayden Shaw.

She married Roger Edwards on Dec. 29, 1963, in Mason City. June was a local business owner and she enjoyed international travel, playing cards, the theater and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice.
