Nina Eleanora Jaeger, 94, of 114 10th Ave., Charles City, Iowa, died Saturday, December 20, 2003, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday Dec. 22nd, at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 South Main St. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Nina Eleanora Phillips Jaeger was born Dec. 30, 1908, in Charles City, the daughter of Ralph and Emma (Immel) Phillips. She attended Charles City High School. She went to work for Dr. and Mrs. Petrie as a nanny and to help with their parties. She also would work evenings at Dr. Banton's home when they were out.

On Nov. 27, 1930. she was united in marriage to Lester G. Jaeger. They farmed in the Charles City and Floyd area. They retired from farming in 1957 and moved into Charles City.

After the 1968 tornado, they moved to Osage, where Lester passed away in 1969, at which time she moved back to Charles City to live with her daughter Karen and to help raise her granddaughter Candy.

Before her hearing and eyesight failed, she enjoyed music, playing the piano, crocheting, quilting and her word seek puzzles. She doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: her son Dale E. Jaeger and his wife Barbara of Mankato, Minn.; her daughters Karen K. Oeltjenbruns of Charles City, and Diana L. Engelhardt of Charles City; one daughter-in-law Sharon Madsen of Charles City; a sister-in-law Dorothy Phillips of Charles City; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Nina was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son Wayne Jaeger, a daughter June Huxohl, a great-granddaughter Vanessa Temple, her brothers Harold Phillips, Bill Phillips, and one in infancy, and her sons-in-law.

Memorials may go to the Hospice of North Iowa.
