Mable F. Daly, 90, of Charles City, she formerly resided at of 806 S. Main St., Charles City, died Tuesday morning, November 11, 2003, at the Good Shepherd Health Center, in Mason City.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Chapel Lane in Charles City, with the Rev. Carl Ries officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Charles City. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City and visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Mable Frances Daly was born March 3, 1913, in Monona, Iowa, the daughter of James S. and Alice Elizabeth (Duffy) Canoe. She attended and graduated from Immaculate Conception School in Charles City. On November 27, 1935, Mable was united in marriage to Richard T. Daly in Parkersburg, Iowa. Mable was employed with Riverside Greenhouse, in Charles City as a bookkeeper where she had worked for 16 years, retiring in 1965. Margaret's interest and leisure activities included sewing, she was a wonderful seamstress, cooking and solving crossword puzzles and completing cryptics. Mable was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, of which she also belonged to the St. Jude Circle, the Heritage Club and the Rosary Society. Mable's greatest joy in life was being blessed with all of her family, the many friendships she made and kept throughout her lifetime. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all.
Those grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in her life are: four nieces, Ann Sullivan of Rockford, Iowa; Alice Somodji of Palatine, Ill.; Marilyn Brocka of Dumont, Iowa; Jean Van Grouw of Mason City; and five nephews, Jim Gayther of Tukwila, Wash.; Ed Majewski of Sacramento, Calif.; Doug Grefe of Hampton, Iowa; Bob Grefe of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Stuart Grefe of Grinnell, Iowa; and several great and grand nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mable in death are her husband, Richard T. Daly on October 30, 1979; her parents and four sisters, Ruby Sullivan; Mary Gayther; Pauline Majewski and Patricia Grefe.
