STUART, IOWA - Norene Mildred Rochholz Love passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2003, at the Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa. She was 78 years old.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, Rev. Paul Wilcox, Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Norene, daughter of Roy and Bessie Rochholz, was born on June 26, 1925, in Grant Township, Guthrie County, Iowa. In 1942 she graduated high school in Adair, Iowa. She taught in rural schools for three years at Grant #1 and Grant #5 north of Adair. She moved to Atlantic in 1945 and began working for Northwestern Bell Phone Company. She transferred with Northwestern Bell to Waukesha, Wisc., where she met James Love. Norene and Jim were united in marriage on December 13, 1951. In 1955 they moved to Charles City and remained there for over 40 years. The couple owned and operated Loves Camera Shop for several years. Norene continued to work for Northwestern Bell for nearly 30 years, retiring in the early 1970's.

She loved animals and owned pets throughout her life. She loved making scrapbooks and doing various crafting projects. She especially loved making Christmas decorations that she would send to various family and friends each holiday season. Norene and Jim loved to bowl. She was active in several leagues and organizations at the Comet Bowl. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Charles City.

Norene is survived by her brother LeRoy Rochholz of Golf, Ill., her nephews Mark and his wife Denise Rochholz of Golf, Ill., and his children Aaron and Julie Rochholz, Scott Rochholz of Dexter, Iowa, and his children Tara and her husband Shane Hansen, Trever and Alex Rochholz. Her step-daughters Pamela and her husband George Spelman of Fishers, Ind., and Susan King of Jefferson, Mo.; three step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Norene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
