Amber Rae Peck, 16, of 408 Clinton St., Charles City, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Faith Bible Chapel, 1701 Ohio St., Charles City, with the Rev. A.C. Wegner officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 3, at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date. Those planning memorial expressions may direct them to the family.
Amber was born May 29, 1987, in Charles City. She attended grade school in Postville, and moved to Charles City with her mom in 1997 where she attended Charles City Schools. Amber took great pride in nurturing a special relationship with her sister J.J. whom Amber said was her greatest strength. Amber enjoyed her cat "Chuckie", camping and spending time with her friends and family.
Those grateful for having had the privilege in sharing in Amber's life are her mother, Candice "Candy" Peck and her special friend Mac; her sisters, J.J. Onken of Charles City and Nikki Peck and her special friend Jared Klingaman and their son Gavin of Decorah; Amber's special friend Kevin Herron; maternal grandmother, Janell Onken; aunt, Connie Burney and her husband Bill, their daughters, Amy, Jenn and Allyson all of Charles City; uncle, Craig Onken and his special friend Susan Kolstad of Farmington, Minn. and his daughters, Molly and Abby Onken; aunt, Carol Brennan and her special friend Del Shannon of Mason City and her children, Rich Onken and his wife Robyn and their sons, Jordan and Tanner of Forest City, Carrie Sambo and her husband Art and their children Andrew and Alexis Sambo of Fredricksburg, Lacey Holtz of Rudd and Justin Holtz of Mason City; Amber's father, Aaron Peck of Cedar Rapids; her paternal grandparents, Harold and Donna Peck of Postville; great-grandmother, Goldie Peck of Oelwein; uncle, Todd Peck and his special friend Tanya Duplice of Silt, Colo.; aunt, Tami Sawnson and her husband Ron and their children, RaeAnn, Josie and Thomas of Nora Springs. She will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Amber is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Edward Onken; and paternal great-grandparents, Upton Peck and Herman and Helen Schupbach.
