Marlene Freeland, 69, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Charles City died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services for Marlene Freeland will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. The Rev. Ted Clark, pastor of the First Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

Marlene Weber Freeland was born December 12, 1933, at Shell Rock, the daughter of Floyd and Marcia (Balks) Weber. She graduated from the Charles City High School in 1951. Marlene married Lee Freeland and they later divorced. In the later 1970's she moved to Dallas, Texas. Marlene worked for National Tea, A&P grocery store, and Woolworths. In her leisure time she worked with crafts, and crocheted.

Living family members include three brothers, James (Dorothy) Weber of Inglewood, Colo., Paul (Martha) Weber of Aplington, and Vern (Dory) Weber of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers.
