Leone Emma Dale, 85, the daughter of Neva (Brown) and Hubble Smith, was born April 7, 1918, in Charles City, Iowa, and died early Thursday morning, (February 20, 2003) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, in Hospice Care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, with Rev. Paul N. Wilcox officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Charles City. The family requests memorial expressions be made to Home Health Care of Charles City or Hospice of North Iowa.

Leone attended school in, and was a lifelong resident of, Charles City. She will be remembered for her love, dedication and devotion for her family. Leone had a great interest in all animals but was especially fond of dogs. She was also a linotype operator at one time for the Charles City Press and a housekeeper for the Salsbury Baptist Home.

Those grateful for having the privilege of sharing in Leone's life are her sister, Wanda Gillam of Charles City; her nephew, David Wilkinson and wife, Elaine, of Des Moines, Iowa; and other relatives and friends who survive her.

Leone was preceded in death by her parents.
