GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Lois A. Schulz, 81, of Glendale, Ariz., passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2002, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Lois will be laid to rest at the Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, May 18, 2002 at 11:00 AM, in her childhood home of Rockford. Fullerton Family of Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

Lois was born March 17, 1921, in Hampton, the oldest of 11 children born to Jonathan and Ruby "Buckingham" Laudner. Eight sisters and brothers, Wava Uker, Sheffield; Delbert Laudner, El Cajon, Calif.; Maxine Fullerton and Ronald Laudner, Rockford; Marvin "Pete" Laudner, Maple Grove, Minn.; Sandra West, Palm City, Fla.; Larry Laudner, Chula Vista, Calif.; and Diane Massee, Rockford, Ill; survive her. Her brother Dallas Laudner and sister Lorraine Van den Brand preceded her in death.

Growing up in Iowa, Lois graduated from Rockford High School in 1939 and became a schoolteacher. She taught in North Iowa country schools. In December of 1940, she met and married her husband, Charles, who survives her. In the early years of their marriage, they traveled throughout the Midwest as Charles helped bring electrical service to rural America.

In 1945, after Charles was discharged from the U.S. Army, Lois and her growing family moved to Waterloo and Postville, Mount Carrol and Savanna, Ill. and Painesville and Perry, Ohio. During that time, Lois bore and raised four children, Charles, Jr. and his wife Denise, Carefree, Ariz.; Susan and her husband David Ransom, Phoenix, Ariz.; Michael and his wife Judy, Huber Heights, Ohio; and Jack of Mentor, Ohio, all of whom survive their mother.

In 1984, Lois and her husband retired to Arizona. Since then Lois has enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up as well as getting together for reunions with family and friends. Six grandchildren, Amy, Julie, Jennifer, Charles III, Michele and Jeremy and 17 great grandchildren survive her.
