MARBLE ROCK, IOWA - Frances M. Dolan, 74, of Marble Rock, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Friday, February 25, 2000, at her home in Marble Rock surrounded by her family.

A funeral Mass for Frances M. Dolan was held Monday, February 28, at the St. Mary's Parish Hall, rural Marble Rock, with Rev. Msgr. Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Roseville.

Visitation was held Sunday, February 27, at the St. Mary's Parish Hall, where a Rosary was conducted by the Knights of Columbus. A Scriptural Wake Service and a Rosary Service were also held Sunday. Visitation was continued one hour prior to services at the Parish Hall.

FRANCES M. DOLAN

MARBLE ROCK, IOWA - A funeral Mass for Frances M. Dolan, 74, of 2404 Jersey Avenue, Marble Rock, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville, rural Marble Rock, with the Rev. Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at St. Mary's Parish hall, 239 Highway 14, rural Marble Rock. There will be a rosary conducted by the Knights of Columbus at 4 p.m., a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., followed by another rosary service. Visitation will continue at the Parish Hall on Monday prior to services.

Reid's Funeral Chapel, Marble Rock, is in charge of arrangements.

Frances Marie Staudt was born April 23, 1925, in rural Union Township, Floyd County, a daughter of Leo J. and Anna M. (Hermann) Staudt, and died Friday, (Feb. 25, 2000) at her home in Marble Rock surrounded by her family. She received her education at the St. Mary's School at Roseville and graduated from the Marble Rock High School in 1942.

She was united in marriage to Adrian Bernard Dolan on June 7, 1944, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Roseville. They began farming in the Dougherty area for one year and returned to the Marble Rock area, where they farmed throughout their marriage. To this union was blessed nine children.

Frances will be remembered for her devotion to God, love for her husband, family, friends and neighbors. She was an active member of the St. Mary's Rosary Society, ACCW (Layettes), Hi Neighbor Club, Marble Rock Study Club and 4-H. Her hobbies included providing for her family through gardening, canning, sewing and cooking. Her family and friends will cherish the homemade creations from her sewing machine, and the memories of the flavors, smells, and warmth from her kitchen.

She will be sadly missed by five daughters and their spouses, Annette and Earl Simonson of Charles City, Mary Jo and Charles O'Neil of Des Moines, Patricia and Dale Parcher of Marble Rock, Jane and Tom Saxen of Cedar Rapids and Madonna and Tom Bowie of Oskaloosa; three sons and their spouses, James and Donna Dolan of Pocahontas, David and Marilyn Dolan, and Bill and Joyce Dolan, all of Marble Rock; 27 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cleo and her husband, J. Duane Hebert of Charles City and Ellen O'Connell of Evanston, Illinois; one brother, Leo B. and his wife, Barbara Staudt, of Marble Rock; and many sisters-in-law.

She leaves to join her husband, who died on August 8, 1993; son, Raymond Leo Dolan, who died in 1960; her parents; and one brother in infancy.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Frances M. Dolan Memorial Fund in care of the family.
