MARBLE ROCK, IOWA - Cecile G. Lines, 79, of 2429 Glass Road, Marble Rock, died Monday, December 27, 1999, at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford with Pastor John Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Marble Rock where there will be a scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church one hour before services.

MARBLE ROCK - Funeral services for Cecile G. Lines, 79, of 2429 Glass Road, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford, with Pastor John Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Reid's Funeral Chapel, in Marble Rock, where there will be a public scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday at the Church.

Cecile Geraldine Calease was born April 11, 1920, a daughter of Grayce Evelyn (McElroy) and Howard Otto Calease in Rockford, Iowa and died Monday (Dec. 27, 1999) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Growing up she lived in Floyd, Mitchell and Butler Counties where she received her education in the rural schools and graduated from the Greene High School in 1937. She received her normal training certificate in 1938, and began teaching country school at Rockford District No. 5.

She was united in marriage to Walter Arvid Lines on Aug. 30, 1939 at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. They farmed in the rural Rockford and Marble Rock their entire marriage. Cecile was baptized and confirmed a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford on April 6, 1941. Cecile and Walter enjoyed 58 years together until his death on Dec. 30, 1997. She entered the Nora Springs Care Center on March 17, 1999.

Cecile will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting, crocheting and needle work. Her special interests included doing crossword puzzles and watching baseball and football on television.

Living family members include her three sons, Harley and his wife, Carol, of Marble Rock, Eugene and his wife, Cindy, of Ionia, and Jim, of Marble Rock; seven grandchildren, Flint and his wife, Lisa Lines, Shane and his wife, Terri Lines, Todd and his wife, Suzy Duryee, Troy and his wife, Becky Duryee, Walter and his wife, Laura Duryee, Brad Lines and Erin Lines; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ella Calease, of Clarksville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers, Roger, Lawrence and a brother in infancy; and one sister, Phyllis Dirks.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Cecile G. Lines Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Reid's Funeral Chapel, Marble Rock, is in charge of arrangements.
