Clarence W. Schmidt, 77, 1708 Owen Street, Charles City, Iowa, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at the Eleventh Street Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City.

A funeral service for Clarence Schmidt will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main and Gilbert Streets, Charles City. Pastors Mark A. Anderson and Dennis D. Niezwaag will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens, south of Charles City, with graveside military honors conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 23, at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City. The family will be present to greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday.
