CHARLES CITY - Elizabeth "Betty" Schwab, age 64, of Charles City, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Main St. S., in Charles City, with the Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Burial of ashes will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City following the service.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., December 19, at the Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City. Betty will be cremated following the visitation.

Betty was born on May 12, 1944, in Osage, the daughter of Robert and Bernadine (Wagner) Lence. She lived in Charles City since the age of 10, graduating from Charles City High School.

She was united in marriage to Charles Schwab on Aug. 29, 1986. Betty retired from White Farm as a manager in 1993 after 28 years of service. She enjoyed her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gordon Mead, of Charles City, Daniel Mead, of Greene, and Angela Tonilli, of Charles City; sisters, Anita Goetsch, Kathleen Rademacher and Diane Vance; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, in 2001.
