CHARLES CITY — Robert Lytle, 67, of Charles City died Monday (Oct. 10, 2005) at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services for Robert Lytle will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, with Jan Tjaden officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be a flag presentation at the graveside.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hauser Funeral Home and visitation will continue Friday an hour prior to the service.

Robert Dean Lytle was born December 2, 1937, at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the son of Dale and Frances (Hughes) Lytle. He graduated from the Charles City High School. Robert served in the United States Navy for 12 years.

On July 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Coe Marcy at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. After his discharge they moved to Charles City where Robert worked as a custodian with the Charles City schools for 36 years, retiring in 1999 as the head custodian at Lincoln Elementary School. Robert was an outdoorsman and enjoyed doing yard work, tending his flowerbeds and camping.

Living family members include his wife, Coe Lytle of Charles City; four children, George Lytle of Charles City, Sandy Arispe of Forest City, Lyneen (Raymond) Lytle of Garner, and Sara (David) Cook of Bellevue, NE; five grandchildren, Jeremy and Alicia Arispe, Ashley Pettit, John Ricke and Stephana Marie Svehla; and a great grandson, Garrison Cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Crawford.
