Mildred "Millie" Larson, 82, of Charles City, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Pastor Gary Van Wert will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City.

Mildred Arlene Madsen Larson was born February 10, 1925 at Henry, South Dakota, the daughter of Ernest and Ida (Frey) Madsen. She graduated from Watertown Senior High School, Watertown, South Dakota and from the business college in Watertown.

On June 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Larson at Watertown. They moved to Charles City in 1963. Over the years Millie was employed at a local insurance agency, the Gambles store and in the Floyd County Engineers Office.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Millie’s life centered around her God, family and church. She will always be remembered as a person who enjoyed touching the lives of many in the community via visitation, sending cards, taking part in the weekly church service at Port Charles and in many other ways. Family was always important to Millie and she looked forward to spending and sharing her life with them.

Living family members include three children, David (Vicki) Larson of Cedar Falls, Roger (Nadine) Larson of Nevada, and Colleen (Dale) Kehret of Charles City; six grandchildren, Keri (Jeremiah) Jacobson, Lori (Paul) Mwangi, Dana (Chris) Luck, Kristian (Christy) Larson, Dan Kehret and fiancée Alissa Miller and Kelly (Brian) Johnson; and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 17, 2002; and a brother, Maynard Madsen.
