Shirley Ruth Squier, age 80, of 666 Seventh St. N.E., Mason City, Cerro Gordo county, Iowa, and formerly of Floyd county, Iowa, died of cancer after an intense but brief struggle on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs, Floyd county, Iowa, with the Rev. John Bates officiating. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.
Shirley was born in Nora Springs and raised in the Rockford area. She was an LPN in the Nora Springs and Mason City area. She was also a farm wife and loved her quilting and needle work. The grandchildren and great grandchildren were of great joy to Shirley.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, LouAnn Wogstad, of Stacyville; daughter, Merry (Ron) Dickens,of Adel; her son, Bruce (Trudy) Squier, of Nora Springs, daughter, Karen (Bob) Koenigs, of Stacyville; son, Brian Squier, of Clarion; and countless loving grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
