Marvlyn Moltz, 84, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Monday, August 28, 2006, at her home in Charles City.

Marvlyn Grace Chestek Moltz was born January 3, 1922, the daughter of Lee and Florence (Tibbetts) Chestek at Bassett, Iowa. She attended the Charles City High School.

On April 7, 1939 she was united in marriage to Vincent F. “Bud” Moltz at Decorah. Marvlyn was a homemaker, a bookkeeper for her husbands business, Moltz Construction, for over 30 years and was a Hospital Auxiliary volunteer for over 50 years. Her interests included playing the piano, traveling and attending the grandchildren’s activities. Marvlyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Living family members include three children, V. Paul (Rohnda) Moltz of Buena Vista, Colo., Judy (Ron) Sylvester of Denver, and Galen (Linda) Moltz of Salida, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Brian, Kim, Megan, Eric, Nick, Melissa, Tom, Emily and Garrod; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; three brothers, Leland, Robert, and Bud Chestek; and one sister, Thelma Helgen.
