Kimberly Joy Grimm, 33, of Burnsville, Minnesota, and formerly of Riceville, Mitchell county, Iowa, died on Friday, November 17, 2006, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Kimberly Joy Grimm was born February 11, 1973, at Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, the daughter of Roger and Judy (Holm) Grimm. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1991, attended Waldorf College for two years and graduated from Wartburg College in 1995.

Kimberly more recently completed the Radiology Program at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN and was currently enrolled in the MRI Internship Program.

In March of 2000 Kimberly was diagnosed with a blood disorder called Thrombotic Thombocytopenia Purpura (TTP). In a brochure expressing her appreciation for blood donors, Kimberly described herself; “My personality is the type that is very determined, thankful and most grateful to all the surrounding support. I am athletic, love to play sports, enjoy the simple things, like a true smile and a ground ball at shortstop. I have grown in many areas and without donors, I wouldn’t have any of this. Thank you. Life is short, have faith, family and fun and live it with a ZEST. God has blessed me with the opportunity to show my appreciation, share a little about my story, and to most of all, encourage blood donations. Thank you kindly for the courage.”

Those thankful for sharing Kimberly’s life include her partner, Diane Eyestone of Burnsville, MN; her parents, Roger and Judy Grimm of Riceville; her sister, Holly Grimm and fiancée, Matt See both of Waterloo; her brother, Ryan Grimm and special friend, Nadia Korobova both of Waterloo; paternal grandmother, Annabelle Grimm of Charles City; and six nieces and nephews, Keaton Shane, Madison and Sydney See, Jack and Erin Kiloran and Connor Eyestone; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Grimm; maternal grandparents, Victor and Lorraine Holm; an aunt and uncle, Gloria and Jim Crumpton; and an uncle, Ralph Grimm.
