CLINTON, IOWA — Connie Louise Seifert, 59, of Clinton and formerly of Charles City, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice in Bettendorf.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 16, at 11 a.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Dr., in Clinton.

Connie was born June 5, 1949, in Charles City, the daughter of Clarence L. Luck of Nashua and Norma Jean Heinselman Luck of Charles City. She was raised in the Plainfield/Waverly area and graduated summa cum laude in 1967 from New Hampton Community High School. She went on to graduate from Clinton Community College in 1998, where she was named a USA Today All-Iowa Scholar for Community Colleges, a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and earned a degree in Business Administration/Accounting. She then earned her Board of Trustees Degree, Business Administration concentration from Western Illinois University in 2001 and Master’s in Business Administration from Ashford University in 2007.

She owned and operated CMP On-Site Drapery Cleaners and managed the Super Wash North, LeClaire and Colona, Ill. Super Washes for the EC Corporation for 12 years. She was a recipient of Super Wash’s Earl Bryson Award for excellence in customer service in 1998. She also did clerical work and was an enrollment advisor at Ashford University for two years, and worked at John Deere Information Systems in Moline, Ill., after getting her MBA until illness forced retirement.

On Oct. 8, 1967, she married Gary L. Douglas in New Hampton. She later dater divorced and married F. (Mick) Seifert on Nov. 9, 1991, in Denver. They made their home in Clinton.

Connie served as president of the Clinton Community College Alumni Association and past secretary of the Retired Eagle Activity Club (REAC). An avid reader, she also enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, needlework, crossword and word puzzles, as well as camping. She particularly delighted in her grandchildren and spending time with them.

Living family members include her husband, Mick; a daughter, Colleen (Vern) Blauwkamp, Holland, Mich.; a son, Daniel (Irene) Douglas, New Hampton; stepchildren: Tracey (David) Revelle, Davenport, Mic (Jennifer) Seifert, Davenport and Chad Seifert, Davenport; grandchildren: Amanda, Amber, Ashley, Alyssa Underwood, Holland, Mich.; Leanne and Shawn Douglas, New Hampton; step-grandchildren: Katie, Hannah and Gracie Revelle, Alec and Shelby Seifert, Jaiden and Audra Seifert of DeWitt; sister-in-law Erin Luck, South China, Maine; brothers-in-law: Jack Seifert, Todd (Shelly) Seifert and Steve, all of DeWitt, Jerry (Judi) Kirkpatrick of Bettendorf, Candace (Dennis) Faust, Lincoln, Neb.; and mother-in-law, Mary Seifert, DeWitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, William Clarence; infant sister, Carol Lynn; and brother, Christopher.

Pallbearers are: Wayne Chandler, John Kane, Dustin Enwright, Ray Bowman, Gaylord Bowman and Pat McCuthon.

A memorial fund has been established.
