ROCKFORD, IOWA - Marjorie G. Walker, 84, of Rockford, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Friday (Oct. 10, 2008) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon Monday, October 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville, with Monsignor Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Roseville.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Reid's Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St. in Greene, with a Scripture wake service at 6 p.m.

ROCKFORD, IOWA - Marjorie (Shindelar) Walker died on Oct. 10, 2008 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, at the age of 84 years.
Funeral services and burial will be held for Marjorie at St. Mary's Church in Roseville at noon today, Monday, Oct. 13, 2008. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a contribution to the American Meningitis Foundation in remembrance of Diane Shindelar and Lauren Colville.
Marjorie was born on Sept. 21, 1924, the daughter of Monroe and Amelia (Frey) Leuenberger who farmed near Fort Atkinson. She attended school in Fort Atkinson.
On September 4, 1945, she married Anselm Shindelar. Eleven children were born to this union: Bill (Donna), Janet, Tom (Ruthie), Charlotte (deceased), Diane (deceased), Aleta (Paul), Marcia, Monroe (Julie), Robert (Holly), Virginia (Bill), and Richard (Kristin). They farmed near Spillville until moving to Roseville in 1955.
Following Anselm's death, Marjorie married Orrin "Dean" Walker on Dec. 18, 1976, gaining four step-children: Pamella, Janice, Donald and Thomas.
Marge and Dean moved to Rockford for a short while and then settled at Roseville until their home was destroyed by the flood of 1999. Afterward they relocated to Rockford.
