Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13, for Earle W. Dickson, 65, who died at 10:30 p.m. Wed., Jan 10, following an illness of two months.

The last rites were conducted at McAuley and Son chapel, Mason City, Iowa, by the Rev. James Miller, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Ogden, Iowa. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Mr. Dickson was born July 28, 1885, in Fithian, Illinois. He spent his childhood there and was baptized in the Central Methodist Church near there. He was married to Edna Mae Bussard at Collison, Ill., on Dec. 9, 1903.

He was a member of the Modern Woodman of the World; was president of the Lincoln township school board for a number of years, and was a township committeeman on the Triple A during the 1930’s.

Surviving are two sons, Marion and Claude Dickson, Nora Springs; two granddaughters, Mrs. Duane (Betty Jean) Graversen, Plymouth, and Bonnie Lou Dickson, Nora Springs. four brothers, James Dickson, Fithian, Ill., Simon Dickson, Woodstock, Ill., Frank Dickson, Wauconda, Ill., and Clarence Dickson, Danville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Dickson, Aug. 23, 1940, and by a half brother, Edwin Dickson of Tampa, Florida.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were Simon Dickson, Frank Dickson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dickson, all of Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Adams, Mount Hope, Kansas.

Note for genealogy purposes: Earl W. Dickson was the son of Hiram Catlin Dickson 1861-1909 and Dora Ellen (Dollie) Ward Dickson 1865-1910.
