Philip W. Lindsay NORA SPRINGS - Philip W. Lindsay, 49, of Nora Springs, Floyd County, Iowa, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, Iowa, with the Rev. Wendy Johannesen of the Nora Springs United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Memorials may be directed to the Philip Lindsay Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Philip W. Lindsay was born Jan. 11, 1959, in Mason City, the son of Robert and Wilma Lindsay. He attended schools at Nora Springs-Rock Falls and graduated in 1977. He was married to Cindy Pike on Aug. 2, 1980, in Rock Falls; to this union two children were born, Nathan and Erin. Phil had worked the last nine years for Omnitel Communications.

Phil had a passion for golf, liked singing karaoke and loved traveling.

He enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family and he especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Nora Springs; son, Nathan Lindsay and wife, Katie, of Cedar Falls; daughter, Erin Crum and husband, Jason, of Nora Springs; grandchildren, Carter and Braydin Crum and the expectancy of a third grandchild; parents, Robert and Wilma Lindsay of Nora Springs; brother, Brian Lindsay and wife, Deb, of Nora Springs; sister, Brenda Lindsay and husband, Rosh Nelson, of Rochester, Minn.; aunt, Maxine Enfield and husband, Wayne, of Mason City; sister-in-law, Nancy Kalkbrenner and husband, Bill, of Manchester, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Alan Pike of Rock Falls and Danny Pike and wife, Amy, of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews and two cousins.

Phil was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Darrell and Dolores Pike; and sister-in-law, Carly Lindsay.
