Jean Lorraine Anderberg, of Vienna, Maine, died on Friday, July 18, 2008, at her home, following a long battle with cancer. She was buried on her birthday in the Vienna Village Cemetery.
For 58 years, Jean brought beauty to the world of everyone whose life she touched. Jean was born July 21, 1950, in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, to Harry and Lorraine (Heitz) Fox. She graduated as Valedictorian of the Charles City High School class of 1968 and went on to graduate from Iowa State University in 1972.
While as Iowa State, she met Jim Anderberg and they were married on October 21, 1972 in Charles City. They journeyed to Maine in 1975. Starting with a rugged patch of town in Vienna, Jean and Jim built a home raised three sons and became part of a loving, supportive community. Jean was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, artist, musician and teacher. From the smallest hand-crafted card sent to a friend, to the lyre music she composed, performed and taught, to the three sons she raised into kind, good-hearted men, all her creations will be cherished by those fortunate enough to enjoy them.
Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jim; by her sons: Aaron (Susan) Anderberg of Beaverton, Oregon; Michael Anderberg of Seattle, Washington; Christopher Anderberg of Burlington, Vermont; by her grandson Elliot Anderberg; by her father Harry (Dixie) Fox of Charles City; by her brothers Robert (Ruth) Fox of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Tom (Robin) Fox of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and John (Kathy) Fox of Charles City.
