Special Dispatch to the Dubuque Daily Times
E. C. CHAPIN’S RESIDENCE BURNED

Charles City, Iowa, Nov. 27 – The fine residence of E. C. Chapin, located about two miles south of this city, was destroyed by fire this morning. Loss $13,500, insured for $7,000. As the home has been unoccupied for a year, the fire is believed to be the work of an incendiary. Mr. Chapin is one of the proprietors of the Davenport Gazette, and, with his family, is residing in that city.
