Two Reunions Held by Duesenberg Family in Vicinity of Rockford

ROCKFORD, IOWA — A family reunion of the Duesenberg family in the nature of a farewell party for one of the family, Mrs. Mollie Malcomb of Glendale, California, was held at the home of Mrs. Andrew Schmidt Sunday. Those present for the day were Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Duesenberg and daughter, Esther, Mr, and Mrs. Irving Duesenberg and daughter, Alice, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Duesenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sykes, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schmidt and daughter. Wilma, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Mosher and family, all of Rockford, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Duesenberg, Rudd, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lacour, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Lacour, Rudd, Mrs. Lena Laun and daughter, Esther, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Laun, Charles City, and the guest of honor, Mrs. Malcomb.

On Wednesday the Duesenberg brothers and sisters held a reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Duesenberg in honor of August Duesenberg, noted automobile inventor and designer of Auburn, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Duesenberg were enroute to their home in Auburn from
Salt Lake City, Utah, where they have been for the past two months for automobile tests run on the Salt Lake flats.

In collaboration with his brother, Fred, now dead, Mr. Duesenberg designed the original
Duesenberg engine.
