JANICE IRENE NIMS

Janice Irene Nims, daughter of Frank and Olga (Fretheim) Nims, was born March 24, 1948 in West Union, Iowa. She died Friday night, July 20, 1990 in Palmer Lutheran Health Center at West Union, Iowa.

She was baptized March 20, 1961 and confirmed March 26, 1961. She graduated from Valley High School May 25, 1966. She was a graduate of Pitzes School of Cosmetology in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She owned and operated her own shop in Clermont for several years.

On Nov. 9, 1968 she was married to Harold Amundson. They farmed in the Clermont area for many years. She had also been employed at Norby's Farm Fleet in West Union. She was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Olga, who died in 1986.

Surviving are her father, Frank, who lives in Clermont, 3 brothers, LaVerne, Robert and Gary, all of Clermont, one sister, Jeanette Moschel, Hawkeye, IA, 9 nephews and nieces, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 23, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. at West Clermont Lutheran Church at Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Donald Loots officiated. Pat Butikofer was organist, Arthur Amundson was the soloist. Interment was in God's Acre's Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa.

Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements.

Casket Bearers were: Chuck Howard, James Anderson, Leslie Nims, Jerry Anderson, Ronald Loftsgard, Bud Hegland and Merle Anderson.
