MILO HAROLD GISLESON 1911-2004

Funeral services for Milo Gisleson were held Monday, April 12, 2004, at 1:00 P. M. in the Marion Lutheran Church at Gunder, Iowa. The Reverend Marshall E. Hahn officiated. Special music was provided by soloist, Ashley Mona and organist, Deb Reierson. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery. Casket Bearers were: David Winter, Todd Winter, Jason Winter, Tommy Landsgard, John Christensen, Keith Marschel.

Milo Harold Gisleson was born July 31, 1911, in Clayton County, near Elgin, Iowa, to Ole H. Gisleson and Gunda Bergitte Amundson. He passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004, in the Good Samaritan Center at West Union, Iowa. He had reached the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 7 days.

Milo attended the Vellersven School District No. 6. He lived and worked on the family farm located near Gunder all of his life. He moved to Clermont in 1989. Milo had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in West Union since May 1, 2003.

Hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling were some of Milo's favorite activities. He was an avid reader and had a significant interest in Native American history. He donated his extensive collection of arrowheads to the Clermont Museum for everyone to see and enjoy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ole and Gunda, a brother, Otto, and a niece, Eleanor Naylor. Surviving are two nieces, Joann (Gerald) Winter of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Kathleen Berg of Anaheim, California, seven great nieces, three great nephews, and 25 great, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Milo was a lifetime member of the Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder.
