Kenneth Mork

Funeral services for Kenneth Mork were held Saturday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. in the Marion Lutheran Church at Gunder. The Rev. William Palmquist officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Marion Lutheran Cemetery.

Kenneth Benjamin Mork, son of Knudt and Bergit (Olson) Mork, was born May 1, 1910 in Clayton County, Iowa. He died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1987 in Palmer Memorial Hospital. West Union.

He was baptized and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, and continued to be a member there, Kenneth attended the rural schools of Clayton County and the Elgin Public School.

On March 31, 1934 he married Georgia Meyer at Elgin. They had 3 children. They farmed in Highland Township in Clayton County in 1934 and 1935 and then moved to a farm in Marion Township. In 1977 they moved to Elgin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Reuben, Abel, Enoch and Henry and five sisters, Ida Feller, Klara Olson, Sophie Anderson, Alma Nelson and Resena Anderson.

Surviving are his wife, Georgia, one son, Kendall, Edgewood, two daughters, Janann and her husband, Alan Seabrooke, Elgin and Nona and her husband, Wayne Sawyer, Waukon, five grandchildren and two sisters, Emma Imholt, Milwaukee, WI and Ruth Liddle, Waukon.

Casket bearers: Charles Feller, William Nelson, Jr., Leslie Anderson, Arlo Mork, Russell Wenger and Elver Anderson.
