Garland "Gary" Newton Jr., 76, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, with a vigil service beginning at 6:30 p.m., at White Funeral Home, Independence. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
