ARLINGTON—The funeral of Joseph Probasco was held in the Methodist church at Edgewood, Monday afternoon, with Rev. Harley Farmhum, Waterloo, in charge, assisted by Rev. Alfred Christensen, of the Edgewood church.

Music was provided by the male trio, Fred Smith, C.J. Rulon, R.C. Cocking, accompanied by Jennie Forward. Pallbearers were Walter Andrea, George Bassett, Walter Cordes, all of Arlington; Herman Bassett, Ted Bassett and C.A. Tilp. Burial was in the Taylorville cemetery at Arlington.

Joseph Probasco, son of Albert and Abigail Probasco, was born on a farm near Arlington, June 28,1862. He was married to Ella Spencer in Huron S. Dak., Mar. 20, 1889. They returned to his birthplace, near Arlington, from Huron in 1893, and farmed there until his retirement when they moved to Edgewood.

Last March, being in poor health, Mr. and Mrs. Probasco went to Waterloo to make their home with their daughter, Abbie, where he died from complications due to old age.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Herbert, Tulsa, Okla.; Harley, Edgewood, and Albert, Western Springs, Ill.; three daughters, Abbie, Waterloo; Olive, Mrs. William Overholt, Foochow, China; Esther, Mrs. Wesley Thorne, Aurora, Ill.; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One daughter, Josephine, preceded him in death.
