Oelwein Daily Register Obituary:
Abner Thomas who first saw the light of day some eighty-four years ago in the state of New York, died Tuesday night, January 7th, at the home of his son, W.A. in Westfield. His wife passed away about five years ago. Three chldren are living, a married daughter in New York state and two sons, E.A. and W.A. living near and in town. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev G.H. Kennedy and burial was in Grandview cemetery.
