Rev. Keith Nash officiated at the funeral services conducted Aug. 20 at Belles-Wright Funeral Home, Fayette, for Charles "Bud" Bigelow 92. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Charles Bigelow was born at Huron, SD, Aug. 8, 1885. As a small boy, he came to Iowa with his parents in a covered wagon. He married Jennie Welch in 1905. They farmed in Fayette county, until he retired and they moved to Hazleton, where she died. They were the parents of three children.
He married Lizzie (Chase) Nichols in 1954. They made their home in Fayette, until Sept. 1976 when they moved to Maple Crest Manor, Fayette.
Mr. Bigelow died at the age of 92 on Aug. 18. He had been in failing health. he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Leta; one brother, Roy, and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Lizzie; his son, Clyde, Hazleton; a daughter, Mrs. George (Delpha) O'Brian, Cedar Falls; a brother, Fred, Arlington; nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Bigelow was born at Huron, South Dakota, August 8th, 1885 as a small boy he came with his parents in a covered wagon to Iowa. He married Jennie Welch in 1905, they farmed in Fayette County until he retired and moved into Hazelton, Iowa where she died in 1953. They had 3 children, a daughter Delpha, a son Clyde and a daughter Leta who was killed in a car accideent a few years ago.
He married Lizzie (Chase) Nichols in 1954, they made their home in Fayette, Iowa. In September 1976 they moved into Maple Crest Manor where on August 18th he qietly passed away as he was eating his supper. He had celebrated his 92nd birthday August 8th, he has been in poor health for quite sme time. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother Roy and the daughter Leta. He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife Lizzie at Maple Crest Manor, his son Clyde of Hazelton, Iowa, a daughter, Delpha, Mrs George O'Brian of Cedar Falls, Iowa, a brother, Fred Bigelow of Arlington, Iowa, 9 grandchildren-23 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-granchildren.
Rev. Keith Nash officiated at the services conducted from Belles-Wright Funeral home August 20, 1977.
Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa.
