Killed on the Cars.
Fairbanks, Oct. 9.—A freight going north on the Great Western broke in half at this place to-day and killed a tramp by the name of A. L. Burton. Burton was with two companions in a car. The other two saved their lives by jumping, but Burton was caught between two cars and horribly mangled. The dead man was the son of a wealthy man at Wharton, Kansas, and his companions’ parents are also well-to-do. The trio, however, have been “tramping” the country. The wreck smashed three or four of the cars and tore up part of the track. Passenger traffic was delayed over an hour.
