—Elgin Blanchard received word last Monday that his nine-year-old son had died at the family home at Waucoma as the result of being kicked by a horse. He went home immediately, and C. C. Bates went to Waverly for Mr. Blanchard to drive Mr. Dent's mare “Welcome.”

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Harry who was born July 3, 1889 and died June 20, 1898. He is buried in the Waucoma Cemetery.
