Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Larson, 87, who died March 30, were conducted Friday afternoon from Zion Lutheran church with Rev. Duane Lindberg officiating. Interment was in West Union Cemetery with Burnham-Wood Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Harry Stolle, jr., Lyle Gunderson, Merrill Gunderson, Everett Schlitter, Clarence Kittleson and Clarence Thorson.

Emma Josephine (Gunderson) Larson, daughter of Gunder and Briget (Kittleson) Gunderson, was born Sept. 28, 1888, at Clermont. She was baptized in the East Clermont Lutheran church and confirmed there Oct. 5, 1902. She received her education in the country school of Clermont, Fayette county.

On Oct. 23, 1913, she was married to Oscar R. Larson in the home of her parents. They moved to Sandstone, Minn., for one year and then returned to Iowa where they were engaged in farming in the Clermont and Oelwein areas. Later they moved to West Union. To them three children were born, Harvey, Bernell and Mildred (Mrs. Howard Mork).

Prior to joining Zion Lutheran church, West Union, in January, 1973, they were members of West Clermont Lutheran church all their married life. Mrs. Larson was an active member of West Clermont Ladies' Aid and Priscilla circle.

Mrs. Larson had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Home of Postville for the past two years. She died at Postville Hospital March 30, at the age of 87 years, six months, and two days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one grandchild, Kenneth Larson; her parents, five brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Howard Mork, West Union; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
